The article describes the initial condition of the new Naryn-Lugokan railway line in the Trans-Baikal Territory, being in temporary operation mode. A preliminary analysis of the slopes of the longitudinal profile and elevations on the pass section of the Gazimursky Zavod-Aleksandrovsky Zavod on the Kokuy-Bugdain stretch was carried out. Several variants of traction calculations were performed for two types of locomotive according to two different regulatory sources. The results of traction calculations are analyzed. An option is proposed for the normal operation of a locomotive fleet when pulling heavy trains on a cross section with slopes steeper than the guideline.
