The article discusses the professional career growth of the customs authorities as a motivational factor, substantiates the need for career development in the customs authorities of the Russian Federation. The system of training of personnel of customs authorities, advanced training, elements of a career management mechanism are considered. A set of measures aimed at improving the career motivation system in the customs authorities of the Russian Federation is analyzed
