This article analyzes power semiconductor devices and their arrangement in a regular rectifier-inverter Converter and rectifier installation of AC electric train excitation. Further, the authors propose a promising technical solution for the implementation of rectifier-inverter Converter and rectifier excitation unit based on modern power semiconductor devices IGBT-transistors, working together with high-voltage diode modules.
